PROJECTS

D-Day Project.

This project is made up out of nine 100 x 50 cm terrainboards with a total dimension of 3 x 1.5 m.

They are made out of 12mm MDF with 25mm polystyrene for the dunes and hinterland and 5mm polystyrene for the beach on top of them.  The height of the dunes is made with several layers of polystyrene on top of each other.

The special thing about these boards is that there is nothing ready made bought on them (except for one of the roads and of course the figures and vehicles that will fight on the boards). Every bunker, house, hedge is scratch-built.

This project is not a representation of one of the real Normandy beaches but I must say that I got my inspiration from Omaha Beach.

.

These boards will later serve as a base for my next project: Pegasus Bridge. By removing the beach and dunes boards and adding 3 new ones with the bridge on it I have a completely new terrain.

The project saw its première at the Crisis 07 wargames show, Antwerp 03 november 07, where it was used for a demo game by my club, the
Stipsicz Hussars
